COMMUNITY
Infrastructure – making sure that our systems (both physical and services) can handle growth (both structurally and population) before the council approves multiple development projects.
Jobs – we need a better system to get the right people doing the right jobs. Many will say that there are tons of jobs available but with increasing costs, are citizens able to survive on the income of those jobs? The cost of living continually increases, yet wages do not seem to be keeping up. I believe that we should also be looking for new areas of industry, which includes remote work opportunities for the citizens of Niagara Falls.
Homelessness – as a city councilor, I intend to work with the other levels of government (Regionally, Provincially and Federally) to work on a program to mend the standard of living for those that are without a permanent dwelling. This program will require not only shelter but will require other social services to cooperate. The band-aid solution that Niagara Falls has been using for many years is not working.
As a life-long volunteer and community-service minded person, I believe that I have what it takes to work hard to help get these things done.
COMMUNICATION
I believe that citizens have the right to know the truth about decisions made at city council as their tax paying dollars not only pay the councilors’ wages, but tax money is also being spent by the councilors including their decisions on the HoldCo board.
If elected, I intend to be open and honest with the citizens of Niagara Falls and keep them informed of how their money is being spent. I also promise to listen to residents and do my research before making those crucial decisions.
COOPERATION
“Teamwork makes the dreams work!”
I am a big believer, that in order to get things done efficiently, all parties must put differences aside for the good of the project.
I intend to work with my fellow councilors and the mayor as well as other city staff and all government officials in the different parties to get projects done for the community of Niagara Falls.
